Envision Schools Colorado believes that all students, regardless of their race, ethnicity or economic background, are entitled to attend schools that prepare them for college success and democratic citizenship in the 21st Century.

The Mission
The mission of Envision Schools Colorado is to transform the lives of our students, especially those who will be the first in their family to attend college, by preparing them for success in college and in life. Our schools will be true communities, marked by intentional diversity, rigorous academic discipline, and excellence at every level. Compassion and high expectations will inspire and empower our students to succeed. As such, our schools will become a model for secondary schools everywhere.

History of Envision Schools
Envision Schools in California began operations with full-time staff in 2002. Co-founded by a former Vice President of the Bank of America and an award-winning teacher and nationally recognized school reform leader, Envision has attracted major supporters, opened four high schools, and is developing a long-term business plan for future growth beyond the Bay Area. Envision has demonstrated the capacity to launch high-performing public high schools by organizing community support for charter acquisition; recruiting diverse students and excellent teachers; effectively implementing curriculum comprised of proven best practices; raising millions in financial and in-kind support; and procuring excellent facilities for its first four schools.

History of Envision Schools Colorado

Colorado foundation and education leaders were impressed with Envision Schools education model and track record of success and cultivated a partnership with the CA-based Envision to replicate their model and create a Colorado-based non-profit charter management organization that will open and support a network of six high perfoming schools in the Denver metro-area serving kids in grades 6-12. The first two charter schools have been approved by the Denver Public Schools and will open in 2009 and 2010. Yee-Ann Cho is CEO of Envision Schools Colorado.
